diverdriver 7 #1 March 28, 2006 Well, some here might be interested in what's been going on with me. I've certainly been absent from the day to day stuff here. Well, I got married in 2004 and have been living in South Bend, IN. My company has moved my domicile to Philadelphia but I don't know anything about the city. I never leave the airport really. I just fly in, do my trips, and commute back to South Bend. It's been a real pain in the ass really as it keeps me away from my new family way more than I want. But I've been enjoying a new house (ok, new to me) and being a stepdad. I have two step-daughters now and I'm lovin it. Ashleigh is 13 and is into showing horses in Western and English. Yes, I muck the stalls when necessary. She does several shows through the spring and summer that culminate in August with the local county 4-H fair. Now, I had no idea how big the fair really was. I was thinking it was just a few good old boys and their tractors and pigs gettin together. Man, it is a sight! And I thoroughly enjoy helping Ashleigh show her horse. My younger step-daughter is Rachael and she's 10. She's a pistol with lots of energy. She started out showing horses like her sister but has stopped that so she can get into competitive swimming. Less than one year ago she couldn't even dive into a pool and her freestyle looked more like a swim for survival than exhibiting forward motion but NOW! man she can really move. I'm so proud of her because she has come so far. She just competed in the YMCA state finals and improved on most of her best times. I've been a step-dad for just a year and a half but I love being there for the girls. I feel like I'm making a difference and being a positive influence on them. But they make it easy for me too. They are both straight A students. But one of the most beautiful things in my life is my wife Wendy. She is amazing. We fit well together . She has a can do attitude and she is very active in her daughters upbringing. She takes care of me more than I deserve and I love her. Last fall when Katrina hit she jumped right in to a group that was going to New Orleans to help. While many volunteers went down for a week and wore out she was there right in the beginning and stayed for nearly 3 weeks. She will hate me saying this but she has difficulty with her right leg. It was severed in a motorcycle accident in March of 2000. Her life would have been easier had they just amputated it but they did save her leg. They had to take muscles from her stomach (she only has a 3 pack instead of a 6 pack now) to rebuild her leg. She spent much time in a wheel chair while the bones in her leg were stretched. She is still one inch shorter on the right than the left. She's not supposed to spend more than 6 hours (non-consecutive) on her leg per day but she did 16 hour or more days while down there. She knew she only had one chance to help those people right and nothing was going to stand in her way of doing what she felt she needed to. Just before Wendy and I got married she had an operation to untie her tubes so that we could try to have a child together. There is risk involved but she wanted it for us. 3 weeks after we were married one of her tubes burst with a tubal pregnancy (which is from the higher risk after such an operation) and she nearly bleed out had we not gotten her in when we did. After that getting pregnant became a very large challenge. But finally, just over a year after we were married we got pregnant again and it stuck! She's now 23 weeks and it's a boy! I'm gonna be a dad and I'm looking foward to it so much. We've been going nuts getting baby stuff and getting a room ready for him. Attached is the only baby photo I have yet but I'm a proud pappa and have to show off. And not sure if you can tell what the bedding is but this child is doomed. PLANES PLANES PLANES!!!! Who are you flying for? From one of your pictures of you in the cockpit it looks like an RJ200 if I'm not mistaken. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! Something is wrong with the ground cart and it somehow fried the GPWS and SSCU and somehow the ADG control panel wouldnt test either. What a fun time that was. I'm on the 700 crew tonight so I'm sure we will have a Duct Mon Fault somewhere. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
