Icon134 0 #1 March 28, 2006 So... there's this local office supply store that's going out of business and they have a few Seagate 250GB hard drives w/16 MB Cashes, 7200 RPM. which after the discount will cost about $119 before tax.... Is it a bad idea or a good idea to get this? they also have some 250GB Western Digitals (w/one 8 MB Cashe) for $105 after the discount I'd kind of like a second hard drive for my desktop... as it is starting to fill up with photos and skydiving videos...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... Jumpah 0 #5 March 29, 2006 www.newegg.com has some great deals...they've got a 300gb drive there with similar specs for $112 + shipping. I've bought a lot of hardware from them and have had no issues. Lurk their front page for their frequently-changing deals.
johnny1488 1 #6 March 29, 2006 I prefer buy.com myself. I have gotten to LaCie hard drives from them. 200 and 500 gig. The 500 just cost me $300, I think the 200 was $140. But The are firewire 800. I have a mac. You can usually get usb 2.0 for pretty cheap online if you have a pc. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!"
