2nd Hard Drive

Recommended Posts

So... there's this local office supply store that's going out of business and they have a few Seagate 250GB hard drives w/16 MB Cashes, 7200 RPM. which after the discount will cost about $119 before tax....

Is it a bad idea or a good idea to get this?

they also have some 250GB Western Digitals (w/one 8 MB Cashe) for $105 after the discount

I'd kind of like a second hard drive for my desktop... as it is starting to fill up with photos and skydiving videos...

From PC Connection:

Maxtor 250gb SATA $79.00
Lasonic 250gb external USB 2.0 drive $88.27 (much easier to install)
DiamondMAX 250gb ATA 133 7200RPM $99.95

Doesn't sound like that good a deal.

I prefer buy.com myself. I have gotten to LaCie hard drives from them. 200 and 500 gig.

The 500 just cost me $300, I think the 200 was $140. But The are firewire 800. I have a mac. You can usually get usb 2.0 for pretty cheap online if you have a pc.
