floormonkey 0 #1 December 18, 2007 Is the W108 the correct submodel for the 42 stitch? Thanks for any help. jeff
JerryBaumchen 1,468 #2 December 18, 2007 Hi floor, These machines are now quite old. I had one rebuilt some time ago and had the proper cam put in it for the 42 stitch. In other words, I am 'thinking' that the designation 108 may not be applicable any longer. It is my 'understanding' that it determined by what cam is in it. Just my worthless 2 cents . . . . JerryBaumchen PS) And I am not sure how you determine which cam that you have. Mark Lancaster ( MEL on this forum ) is now 'out there somewhere' and he is the guy who rebuilt my 269. Maybe shoot an email to Dave DeWolf, his website is www.paraloft.com and he usually responds.
masterrigger1 2 #3 December 19, 2007 Jerry, I am back form "out There" now... The sub class -108 means exactly what jerry said, the original configuration. The original configuration very well have been changed as most factorys did just that. The best way to tell is by the cam #. A -108 should have the cam #239591 or #239237 which is a left start-left stop cam. The Singer 269-8 is the same machine as the 269-108. The -108 is just a later/newer model.
