airtwardo 7 #1 April 2, 2006 Here 's the thing~ My wife works for an airline, and the 'trip scheduling' is a rather fluid process as far as trading trips to get a better schedule. She can enter certain parameters on the scheduling website that will notify he via email when an alternate trip becomes available to possibly trade with. The problem is, that kind of ties you to the computer waiting all day to see if & when something comes open. Someone mentioned to her at work that what they do is to have the email sent to a Yahoo! account, and the account then automatically 'text' messages a phone with the information... I've been wandering around Yahoo! all morning trying to figure out how to set this up....NO JOY. Does anyone have any experience with this? ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
eeneR 3 #2 April 2, 2006 Pay back time! There should be in the upper right hand corner of the screen there is the "options" selection, there should also be "Mail for Moble". From there you pick the Carrier, phone make and model. RandomLemming 0 #3 April 2, 2006 I'm not sure about Yahoo!, but depending on what country you live in and what network you are on, there are a number of e-mail to SMS services available. I found a couple for the UK just by searching on google - but they are all chargeable. Depending on your cellular network, you may be able to get better options there. She's flying now, I'll have to get her phone when she gets home tonight and see it I can go forward, she may need a newer model phone...she still uses the original T-mobile freebie from about 5 years ago... Can't get her to upgrade before because the old one seems to have 2X the power of the new ones. I doubt that service is even compatable with the 5 year old 'tin-can & string' setup she has.
