homer 0 #1 April 3, 2006 BOHICA For those who don't know me I just received a medical discharge from the Army in January. I spent the previous year in rehab for my broken back that I got in Iraq and went 9 months with it unknown to the medics even after x-rays. Anywho, I'm unemployed and still trying to find work living off my disability money. I got my tax return back from my sister-in-law who does them and it seams the Army didn't take enough out in taxes last year. I have to pay over $960 back to Uncle Sam, again, I'm unemployed and living off my disability. This F*@%ing SUCKS. BOHICA CSA #699 Muff #3804
JohnnyD 0 #2 April 3, 2006 Read here: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/military/index.html You still have some time before you have to file/pay. If you have already filed, you can file an ammended return if you find some reason for doing so. I really hope you can find something of use. Its ridiculous that you get a tax bill. homer 0 #3 April 3, 2006 Thanks for the info. I have been state side since Feb. of '05 so only Jan. is Tax exempt. I will look to see if there is anything I can use to save me a couple bucks. I just hate to have to pay that much when I'm on a limited income. I guess there are only three guaranteed things in life Tax, death and a GREAT SKYDIVE. homer 0 #6 April 4, 2006 I'll take the job only on the condition they move the DZ here as I have roots and don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. That and I DO have a job the only catch is I can't take the state certification exams until May at which point I will be able to meet with the clients I'm already lining up.
