Tink1717 2 #1 April 4, 2006 Ok, I have about five years worth of Parachutist. I am running out of shelves and I need the shelf space. Should keep 'em or chuck 'em?Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) Conundrum 1 #2 April 4, 2006 I don't see he point of keeping magazines for very long after they've been read; unless they have something in particular in them that you want to keep. +1 for chucking them

Drop a handful off at either of these and they'll be there for YEARS!! Also... I 'donated' a 5 year subscription of both Parachutist and The American Rifleman to my old High School Library... Someone had done that back in the 70's, and it sure gave ME something 'interesting' to read while killin' time.... ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
masterrig 1 #11 April 4, 2006 I've got Parachutist from 1988. I've gone back through some of them and compared to today... what a difference. Chuck

happythoughts 0 #18 April 5, 2006 QuoteQuoteBlacken out your address and donate them to the local library. Are ya feelin a little slow Bill? I don't go to the high school library, but our local public library probably gets more than a few donated. At a lot of public libraries, they re-sell books and magazines. I buy a paperback for a quarter, read it, and give it back (it's cheaper than overdue fees ).
masterrig 1 #19 April 5, 2006 They cover a lot of history in the sport. Our DZO had one of the very first issues and since. Can you imagine Parachutist in black and white? Belly warts and rounds as the 'big thing'? Big ol' thick lace-up leather jump boots? Balloon suits? Bell helmets? This sport has come a long way in a relatively short time.
