Traffic court takes all kinds . . .

So, today I had to go to traffic court for a speeding ticket I got in February. (Don't ask me why, but you can't just pay it. You have to go speak with the judge no matter what). Anyway, it's definitely an interesting place. All kinds of people there.

This woman that was in front of me while we were waiting in line to pay needed a quarter () in order to be able to pay her fine, so I gave it to her. Then she started telling me about how she wasn't going to jail for 12 months over a quarter, and that her daughter just got out after being in for 5 months, and "she said, 'momma, it's rough in there . . . especially when you're pregnant." Bear in mind, this woman I was talking to looked no older than 30.

Then there were the 18-year-old boys in there with their parents, who had made them wear a suit, like my parents did when I went before.

But hell, the judge dismissed one of my tickets and shaved 8 mph off of my speeding ticket . . . and I got to do some kickass people watching. So it's all good.
