What ya listening to?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting ready to do another video mix and I need some music... I usually just go grab a punk remix from Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies but figured I'd branch out a bit this time.

Whats everyone got in their play lists and anything a bit unusual in rock out there?

Mix it up a bit, use something older....

Yeah....what he said. Dare to be different. I know skydiving videos are made mostly by you "younger guns", but it seems like they all have the same 10 songs on them. :( I've been compiling this list for the day when I do my first (some for the full song, others just for certain riffs)....

Led Zep...................Moby Dick, The Lemon Song
Doobies...................Take Me In Your Arms
Kenny Loggins..........Mr. Night
Doors......................Crawling King Snake
J.C. Mellencamp.......Justice and Independence
Police......................Miss Gradenko
Boston.....................Cool the Engines
Queen.....................Dead On Time
Genesis...................Abacab, Keep It Dark
Santana..................Sea Cabo
Procol Harum...........Whiskey Train
Stones....................Monkey Man
Jeff Beck.................Goin' Down

(...Skynyrd doesn't seem to "fit" with jump videos, I'm sorry to say...) [:/]

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Awesome taste in music. Most people dont appreciate the good "classic" rock these days. ;)

J.C. Mellencamp.......Justice and Independence
Boston.....................Cool the Engines
Santana..................Sea Cabo
Stones....................Monkey Man

those are some of my favorites, and I am sure that one of these skynyrd songs would go great in a skydiving vid;

Free Bird
Call me the Breeze
That Smell
Swamp Music
I know a little
or Dont ask me no Questions

just a thought:)

Don... you got a fav to be mixed to wingsuit footage?

Yes sir....imo, something with a relaxed sound, flowing, without a heavy percussive beat (save that for the freeflying) :)
The first half of "Dogs", from Pink Floyd's Animals.

Or "Monkey Man", from the Stones' Let It Bleed.

EDIT.....or "Blue Collar", by BTO.

Listening to all sorts right now - lot of Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit and there are plenty of their tracks which I reckon would work, but how about:

WASP - Rebel in the FDG

That rocks!B|

i'm usually listening to Slayer.

But a good song for a skydive vid might be Thunderbird by Quiet Riot,80's rock balled.

I don't know the name of the song, but I think it's the Foo Fighters who have the chorus in their song, "it's times like these, you learn to live again....". That's probably not any help at all, is it? :P

Korn = A.D.I.D.A.S.

Skinny Puppy = Assimilate (was a good one for snow boarding videos)

edit to add: Camper Van Bethoven = Take the Skinheads Bollowing (twas a funny song)

And a song I'm currently keen on Dannie Minnogue = "Who do you love now" from Neon Nights. (techno track but it's somewhat haunting.

Barry White- Sexual Healing

It's my cool new ring tone! You really hear the song not just some lame ass phone version/ring tone version of the song. Finally Sprint did something cool!
