lawrocket 3 #1 April 11, 2006 I guess Ahnold just declared a a State of Emergency for few counties here in Cali. I'm smack dab in the middle of Fresno county - one of the lucky counties. The issue is that it's been pouring rather steadily here and the water's been a rising. We've had a couple of small breached of levees here (these levees are for the irrigation canals) and there is concern that major failures can happen. I don't foresee anything like what happened to NOLA, since most of the levees that are threatened are in more remote places than Fresno (drive until your radio goes all staticky - and you'll either be in Fresno or at a US Military installation). They had 10,000 protestors at City Hall today, which means that we might have a nice crossover of flood and riot coming soon. I may yet have to visit Guitar Center...
