jdthomas 0 #1 April 12, 2006 Tonight my girlfriend Christina took me to the skatepark.. Wow it's been along time since I have been on my board. It's funny because I had always made a little fun of the old guys that would come to the park and ride.. now it's 20 years later and I am that old guy that the kids are making fun of.. ahh it's fair play I guess. Christina took a few pics of me.. enjoy Joewww.greenboxphotography.com

That is the penalty of surviving. ONly the young can claim the latest extreme.. I mean who would ever believe anyone older than they are could ever have done anything like they are doing. gofast_ER 0 #6 April 12, 2006 i tried to get back on my board a few months ago. I just don't have the knees i used to. I used to be able to *attempt* a 10 stair kickflip do a really nice plf and get back up like i had just fallen out of bed. Now i need a few hours to recover when i really do just fall out of bed. Really sad too, im not even that old.I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.
jdthomas 0 #7 April 12, 2006 I have icy hot on my knees right now.. I blew both of them back in 1988.. I had one "fixed" then but not the other one.. it's gets me from time to time. i used to love the hand rails, did them all the time and looked for the next biggest set.. now I use them to walk up and down stairs with.. it's a new concept for older skaters but that rail thing was a good idea for a walking aid. SkydiveStMarys 0 #8 April 12, 2006 I took my son and four of his friends to Kona Skate Park in Jacksonville, Fla on sauturday...there were quite a few people my age...not that I'm old, but still...old enough to know better! He had a blast, I had a blast...there were some old school guys there that really knew how to tear it up! BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. dqpacker 7 #9 April 12, 2006 Kona is nice. I have only riden it on tonyhawk pro skater. I haven't short skated in a while, just been riding my longboard down hills and a few snake runs.
hookitt 1 #10 April 12, 2006 NICE!!! I just went to the local skate park for the first time in .. .well, it's been a long time. The bowl was fairly decent and there is even some vertical. Let's just say I'm not quite ready to bust out a rock-n-roll slides and front side air just yet. The kids were pretty cool but probably made fun of me behind my back. 2 kids told me about a couple other parks and since I'm old enough to drive ... I'll probably go check them out pretty soon.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
jdthomas 0 #11 April 12, 2006 Wow nice park.. KC is poping up with cement parks like crazy... there is a new capsula bowl thing here.. I will try to go by and get a pic of it.. the thing is nuts! And Kona, that park is a legend! I am trying to think back how long it's been since I was at Kona and I would have to say it was like 91? when I went on tour.. hell I am not sure now.. oh well the place was great. that year we went to Milwaukee and hit the Turf skate park.. it had just got refurbed from Bell E buttons and was ready for skateboarding once more.. that place was the sickest park we hit that year!
