Replying When You Have No Idea

Recommended Posts

So I have seen a number of threads in the topical forums on this board and on other boards I visit where the OP asks a question, then some period of time later (sometimes within minutes) replies something like "I asked this question and no one has answered. Why not?"

As a matter of courtesy, should I reply to each and every question I come across online with the answer "I do not know the answer to your question."

Would that make these posters feel better? If we all did it, would they ever be able to find the actual answer among the meaningless replies?

No one reads every line in every thread. If ya got a question hidden in some thread and it MUST be answered. Start a new thread.

Is that what you mean?

Or is answering a question with a question just making your point mute?

Why am I asking so many questions?

I think I'll just have a beer.

I've asked this same question before and nobody answered it.

No, you should make something up as an answer and write an intelligent-sounding response with a tone of authority on whatever the subject is. Isn't that what everyone else does??? :)

I noticed in your profile, you have 460 jumps. Are you sure you've made the right canopy choice?
