Inexpensive hotel recommendations near Eloy?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow morning, I am driving to Eloy for the weekend, and I was wondering which hotel you guys recommend. They all have rooms available, and the three top choices listed on the poll are between $59 and $61 per night (after taxes and discount). The Day's Inn will be $45.43, after taxes and discount.

I need for the room to be inexpensive, but I want to be sure to be safe, as well. Is there anything horribly wrong with the Day's Inn, that I should be worried about? I'm not expecting anything good, when it comes to the room, just a place to sleep. Should I avoid all of these? Any other suggestions?

Hi there,
I'm going to Eloy next weekend and plan to stay at Motel 6. Is it easy to get from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the wind tunnel? I'll be arriving after 7 pm, I hope I can find the hotel before it gets too dark! Oooh nooo! I'm so nervous (and very excited)! If anyone has simple directions, I'd appreciate it!

Only 8 more days! :)

Drive down south on I-10 from PHX.

Just after merging with I-8, you'll see the sign for Motel 6. Its there.

To get to the DZ from the motel, upi'll be on Sunland Gin Road already. Go north to Jummy Kerr (you'll go over the highway) Turn Right on Jimmy Kerr, and follow the sings. I'd link the google mapo, but it has the motel location wrong.

The Day's Inn is a truckstop hotel. Not the most secure in the world, and there are trucks in and out all night - very noisy. The rooms are tiny as well. I would not recommend that one.

The other Casa Grande hotels I have stayed in:

-Best Western: excellent. Fairly new, clean, free breakfast, etc.
-Holiday Inn: an older hotel, but just fine as a place to hang your hat for the weekend.

The Motel 6 is fine. Nothing to write home about, but fine. The only issue is that you'll probably have to get your keys recoded every night. Look at them funny and they stop working. [:/]

I've stayed at all of them. The only one I woujldn't stay at again is the Super 8.

I prefer the Red Roof.

When I was there I had reservations at the Super 8...however my roommate brought a guest back so I ended up at the honeymoon suite (all that was available that night) at the Red Roof Inn which was newer, cleaner and had a sweet hot tub in the room. If I recall they gave me a $79 rate (but I also shared my reason for being so desperate for a room...perhaps it was a sympathy rate:D) I'd personally prefer to stay at RRI next time I come to Eloy:)

Hey Rosa,

Take a tent and pitch it in tent city on the dz - that way you avoid the expense and dodginess of the local motels.

Otherwise, the Super 8 is fine - it is the closest to the dz (turn right, cross over the railway tracks onto the dirt road, turn left at end of said dirt road and carry on straight until you reach the dz) and with any motel anywhere, if you keep your door locked at night, you are safe!!!

Looking forward to seeing you.

Liz
