Icon134 0 #1 April 14, 2006 lately we've had these huge thunderstorms blow through in the early morning and often when they do I get up and watch them instead of sleeping through... Well this morning we had one hit about 0400 and after I got up I noticed I couldn't find Karma (my dog for those that are new)... I started to wander all over the house looking for her, calling out her name/etc... after about five minutes of freaking out thinking I somehow had left her outside (I'm absent minded but can't see myself doing that... especially since she barks when she wants in) I discovered her hiding under my desk (she kind of poked her head out... it was really cute and I felt sooo bad for her since she was obviously scared) well... I guess my dog doesn't like thunderstorms... does anyone else have a dog that is scared of them...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... 2fat2fly 0 #2 April 14, 2006 Smidgen, our Spaniel-Border Collie mix is terrified. The other two don't seem to care. If I'm home, I'll let Smidgen on the porch and sit with her until it passes.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
Cyanide41 0 #3 April 14, 2006 we are suppossed to have thunderstorms here in San Diego today, which sucks because it has been so beautiful lately and the day I have off it rains. JAMES
ifall 0 #4 April 14, 2006 Both my dogs are petrified of thunderstorms. I got the same thunderstorm this morning as you did. Angus, the English mastiff was upstairs hiding in the bathroom. My other dog Bear is sick with cancer and didn't have the energy to or he would have as well. They know not to go upstairs unless told its ok but when it storms we make an exception. I usually let them into my bedroom to sleep when they do get scared.

simplyputsi 0 #7 April 14, 2006 poor karma. My dog was scared of thunderstorms. As long as you were by her she would do ok, but if you were like across the room or something she would go and hide.Skymama's #2 stalker -

jumpinfarmer 0 #10 April 15, 2006 My dog used to be afraid of thunderstorms as well. He was actually a good predictor of the weather since he would get nervous and act weird before the storm even got near. He would back himself into some strange places in the house as well, between the toilet and wall, and next to the washer were his favorites. I miss my dog.
