monkycndo 0 #3 November 26, 2007 When measuring the slider, don't measure it along the edge. Measure it at the centerline while pulling it tight. The sewing of the reinforcing tape at the edges causes the length to shorten. I thought I had a smaller slider on my S170 only to find it was measured wrong.50 donations so far. Give it a try. monkycndo 0 #5 November 26, 2007 Got it directly from PD. My rigger measured the slider when I bought the canopy. He said it was smaller than the size listed on the website. I told him to order a new one that was "bigger". Once it came, it was the exact same size. I called PD and they gave me the instructions on how to measure.50 donations so far. Give it a try. I just measured a PD slider using both methods. Side to side the measurements were the same, front to back the middle of the slider was 1/2 inch longer. For both measurements I used the same tension. So what's up do you think? :) By the way, how much bigger was the "bigger" slider you got?
monkycndo 0 #7 November 26, 2007 I don't exactly remember the exact size difference between the way my rigger measured and per PD. It was almost 3 years ago. But IIRC, it was about an 1" X 1/2". It was my first canopy and I had heard all the stories of slamming Sabres and wanted to make sure the slider was the correct size. As I said previously, the new slider wasn't any bigger, just the results between measuring methods.50 donations so far. Give it a try. I just want to make sure that people don't think that a slider that is an inch or 2 larger will make any difference in opening.
