katzurki 0 #1 April 17, 2006 So I have a pair of Etymotic ER-6 headphones which seal the ear canal so well I can't hear anything with them inserted even if there is no music. Question is, if I take them on a full altitude freefall skydive, should I expect any problems from rapid air pressure change, considering that the ear canal is sealed nothing short of airtight? ER6 block ambient noise so wonderfully well that I am sure it will be possible to listen to music in freefall... something ordinary headphones have no chance of achieving. You get the best of both worlds - quality hardware and kickass software, and none of that iTunes / DRM horseshit. I personally think it's the coolest hack I've ever seen. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
grue 1 #10 April 18, 2006 I wouldn't take a hard disk based MP3 player over 10,000. There's not enough air density to float the head(s) above the platters, and you can ruin the disk. I learned this one the hard way My flash-based player, on the other hand, has about 50 jumps cavete terrae.
