Totally incredible, I was in a sugar coma!

Recommended Posts

You always hear people talk about it, but I experienced it! After 40 days of 0 refined sugar, preservatives, additives, or anything...Easter came and I dosed up on chocolate and fried foods and candy of all sorts. Then Monday came, and I made it a 2 day jaunt...but this morning, we still had all of these Peeps around and chocolate robin eggs (those whoppers that have hard candy shells) and SAMOAS that were saved from Girl Scouts and I said I'll just pick a little from each and then start 20 more days of no sugar.

I guess the body said 'HELL NO' to all the sugar and I dropped my kid off at school, came home, and fell asleep. Not just asleep, we're talking a deep REM sleep from which few things can wake a person. I didn't have dreams, I had sleeping feature-length movies I tell ya...I lived days in my dreams. CRAZY! :)
That was so cool, but now my tummy feels yuck. :S Think I'll start eating healthy again right away before I pass out again...

How's Easter gluttony goin' for you? :P

Actually I had a fight with a woman because of my legal name vs my name on my accounts and credit cards vs my signature. That was interesting! :P Then I was JUST ABOUT to make the biggest sale of gift incentive albums in my life to some big shot mortgage dude...then the damn PHONE woke me up before I climaxed closed the deal! >:(>:(>:(

Welcome to my world... This is normal for me, seriously...

I wish I could sleep that soundly, but at night when the kids are in the house it just never happens! :P

You went 40 days without refined sugar? :o
I wish I could do that[:/].

Tell me, how did you possibly endure that? Don't you like sugar? >:(
I have gone 3 days without any kind of food whatsoever, but to limit myself to NO sugar for 40 days? :S

I'd sure like to see how long I can go, but I'm afraid I will binge like crazy once I get back to sugar:D.

Do you crave sweets a lot less now? :)

I was COMPLETELY addicted to sugar. I honestly don't know anyone that craves sweet like I do. [:/]But I made it because I made a promise to God. :)) but I promised someone that I could not deny. (I'm just telling people what I did; this doesn't need to end up in SC, as it's not open for discussion or interpretation. :S)

I did crave sweets a lot less until Easter and the chocolate and candies and all that...now it's just like the 40 days never happened. [:/] I will do it again for 7 days at a time. Much easier if I want to have that ice cream or something...I can on Fridays ;)

Well, that's very cool of you! :)I can usually forego treats during the week, but by the time the weekend rolls around...here come the homemade cookies:|.

I would like to try such an idea, I have fasted from chocolate before. Cutting out as many sweets and refined sugar as much as possible sounds like an excellent idea to me...then again I really enjoy chocolate.;)

I can agree with that. If I can cut it out of my system for a significant length of time it becomes much easier to avoid it. I did it for well over a year, now, unfortunately, I allow myself refined sugar here and there, and find myself constantly in the start/stop cycle. Sigh. I'm with you - it really helps my moods and energy to get rid of it altogether. Sugar comas SUCK.
