I've been wanting to do that and have a neighbor who wants to do it with me. I'll very likely be checking it out soon and will let you know.

I've taken ballroom dance lessons, I have to admit it was alot of fun and I'm glad I did...
I'm single so I didn't have a parnter, I just showed up... normally they'll team you up with an instructor at first, then when they have their mixers you'll dance with several women...
I'd definitely recommend it, you'll enjoy yourself...

I have not, but have always wanted to as well... The Casino in Catalina has a HUGE ballroom dance party for New Years Eve and it's something I've dreamed of doing each year (just need to find a partner who is interested). B|

If you take lessons let me know how it goes.

REALLY? :)
A club I used to go to in Long Beach had a swing night, and I'd just sit in awe watching the couples... Looked like a lot of fun! B|

You don't need a partner... find a nearby ballroom dance studio and drop in for a visit.. they'll be more than happy to teach you... when they have their weekly (usually weekly) mixer you'll have plenty of dance partners...

Edited to add... since nobody seems to care I'll just STFU now...

I took country/western dancing with a girlfriend of mine a few years ago. It was really to teach her to freak'n dance, I've been doing the 2-step, 1/2 step, polka and waltz for most of my life. It was definately better after she learned how to dance and how to follow.

Oh, country/western dancing is NOT f'n line dancing. Line dancing is what wanna be yankees do. Period. There are obviously only a couple of exceptions, including the Cotton Eyed Joe.

Yep. It was fun, and, well, now I can dance. Even though I haven't in awhile, I could at least not embarrass myself with the majority of the steps. Particularly if I count to myself . Conversing while dancing is an advanced maneuver. Go try it.

The whole thing kinda went South for me when my girlfriend starting sleeping with one of the cheesy dance instructors.

Hello, lol, take the classes!
I used to teach ballroom, swing and latin. As a guy you will get more attention than you know what to do with!
Here's the thing, 1) the ratio is almost always at least 2 ladies for every guy...
2) When going out, you can ask any woman to dance, (if you are a decent dancer) and not only will she dance with you, her date will thank you for getting him out of it!
3) it is fun, single or with your SO
4) Great workout...

I took Salsa lessons last year. I just decided I wanted to do it one day so I looked up a places in to go in Santa Cruz on my computer and showed up to one of there group lessons that friday. I went by my self and it seemed that more than half the people there did the same. It was a lot of fun. There is usually a relatively even mix of guys and girls there so everyone has a partner. I made a lot of friends and a group of us would meet up and go dancing together. I really miss it and can't waite to get back to it when my shoulder heals.

I was forced to take dance when I was on a high school flag team (y'know, spin the pretty flags around and wiggle at the football half-time show?). We learned these pep dance routines and I thought it was lame, but I was actually pretty good at it.
