Noisy neighbors in the middle of the night

Recommended Posts

Classic problem: New neighbor moves in. She works a strange shift at a casino into the middle of the night. She meets lots of casino worker types and brings them all home for a party after work once a week.

3am: BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM...

3:15: I pound on their door. Shirtless dude or rental chick comes to the door. Lots of people dancing in the background.
Dude: "Yeah?"
Me in bathrobe: "It's 3 in the morning."
Dude: "Huh?"
Me in rage: "Turn the fucking music off!"
Dude: "I don't live here."
Me in fury: "I don't give a shit. Turn the music off!"
Dude: "Uh. Whatever."
*slam*

3:30: BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM...

4am: BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM...

4:30: BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM puh-puh-puh BOOM BOOM...

I've told their landlord. Things got better for two weeks.

I've called the police. Police don't show up.

Any further ideas?

My boyfriend had that problem in the past with an apartment neighbor. It was the same kind of situation; she would come home from working the late shift and turn the music up loud in the middle of the night. He politely asked her to stop to no avail. Finally, he turned his stereo speakers right up to the shared wall and blasted the music all day while he was at work. He never had a problem after that.

I had the same problem, i truely feel for ya (especially if you have work int he morning.)

I tried banging on the door and that usually shut him up, if it didnt i just had to live with it. He also used to beat the shit out his women and you could hear her sobbing and crying, a LOUD knock on the door usually stopped that aswell.

People aint made of nothin' but water and shit.

Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.

We had the same problem when we lived in an apartment.I would bang on the ceiling till I didn't hear a sound up stairs. Then as soon as the noise started again I would do it again. It didn't take long before their friends didn't want to come over to their house anymore.

Payback's a bitch. Do the same to her during her prime sleeping hours.

I had a similar problem when I worked Night Shift.
The woman who lived below me used to play Whitney Houstan all day very loud.
I tried asking nicely if she would turn it down for a few hours so I could get some sleep, but she wasn't interested.

Before I left for nightshift work I placed my Hi Fi speakers face down on the floor and put on a Bruce Springsteen CD (on repeat) and left for work.

I only had to do that twice and she got the message.

Never heard Whitney again.

Good luck with what ever action you take.

stupid noisy inconsiderate neighbors suck donkey balls!!!!

I like the idea to turn your speakers up when you work during the day.
As far as calling cops, don't call and say they are making noise, call and say you heard someone trying to get into your apartment. They won't come for a noise call but will for a home intrusion. When they show up say maybe it was someone from there mistaking your door for theirs or something.

Stupid noisy neighbors piss me off!!

Well, I got a hold of the owner of the property and he's already evicted them. She's not only loud but she's lousy with his rent. Woo hoo! He also apologized for his judgement in letting her move in.

Now it's just a matter of waiting... she should be out by the end of the month. Unfortunately there's always the chance that she'll dig her heels in. But I might help things along by making life miserable for her. If she hates living here she's less likely to try to fight the eviction.

Woo hoo!

Do you have access to the breaker for her apartment?

In my old place, the breaker for the whole building was in our basement. The people upstairs would have loud parties at all hours. I didn't care, but my roomate was a contractor and had to be up at 5:30 AM...he was quite pissed.

One day, he just turned off their power and went to bed.

But its a women so mayb get a u should hire out a female bodybuilder and get her to kick the shit outa her!..or cut the power to her house... slash her tires..egg her house.. the possiblities are endless..
