What's with the puffy lips on every chic on tv ?

And does anyone know if Angelina's lips are REAL?

Yes, I believe they are based on pics of her as a young teen - big puffy lips over braces. Besides, her lips are wrinkled like normal lips should be, not stretched taut with filling.

I bet she's an example women use to describe what lips they want to their doc though. Being named Sexiest Woman Alive by People magazine probably won't slow the trend either....

I use LipFusion plumper on occasion. It tingles and makes my lips look like I've been making out - just a little smoother and fuller, but totally natural. Mua! B|

Okay..I'll throw in my 2 cents. I think getting nostrils clipped looks freakish. People shouldn't look like tucans.

I have no idea what this means! Please explain, April. Wth is nostril clipping! :D

Michael Jackson would be an extreme example of surgical overdosing, but for a daily dose of what nostril clipping looks like, check out 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire's Meredith Vieira. Her nose is distracting when she moves. She looks great one moment, scary as all get out the next.

And she's not alone. Rhinoplasty has gone from removing bumps to removing nostrils and I find the trend straaaaaaaaaaange...how do these 'stars' feel about their children (they have their genetic noses). Sometimes I'll watch a movie and note who DIDN'T get that surgery! Michaels is so bad you can see his thoughts! ugh!ugh!UGH!~~April

Thanks for the info, April.

I'm with you about Angelina's lips. I don't care what magazine's declare her to be "sexiest". Her lips are overblown, making her look like a blowfish. For the most part, I find Angelina's look and her, in general, to be quite foul. B| If I ever saw her smile or laugh, I might think that she was actually human or had some kind of heart/soul.

No problem...and sorry if I ruined 'Millionaire' for you but thats what I spend my time doing while I watch that show...looking at her nose...wondering what it will look like next week...waiting for it to STRIKE :o:D.

I think Angelina is 'okay' but I know some men who are actually afraid to look directly at her.~~April
P.S. I just noticed....I finally broke a thousand posts! I'll drink some beer later to celebrate!

B/c I'm in a mood, I'll be brave and suffer the consequences for the following statements (my opinion):

Yes, you can be rich & trashy. Fake anything is never done "tastefully". Rarely do naturally thin girls have large na-na's. I believe they make a smaller girl look cheap, as do the overly puffed lips, etc. Plastic surgery to me is a cry for attention.[:/]

Natural is the way to go. Learn to love what God gave you people, and WORK IT!:P

Sorry...I'm SO tired of this epidemic. Yes, I understand "the pressures" blah, blah, blah. And yes, it's easier for some to say than others, I guess. I LIVED in an industry for a while that loads on the pressure. But, if you love yourself, it won't get to you for more than two seconds. If you have issues with yourself, you need to work on you MIND, not your body. Your bodies are NOT the problem.

And that's my story;)

Your opinion is yours and it's yours alone. I'm a very happy 36 year old who takes very good care of herself (diet, exercise, sunscreen ad nauseum) but has deep frown lines which makes me look tired, older than I really am and angry. I don't want to look angry and tired because I'm not therefore I'm getting Botox. So there!

P.S. And I've met plenty of thin girls with big na-nas, I guess some of us are luckier than others.

Yep. It's hard to look angry if you can't move your eyebrows. I have one friend who has found other, less subtle, ways to look angry despite all the botox.

At least botox isn't permanent, and if you decide that you want to have facial expressions again, you just wait until it wears off. If you like the effect you can go back for more!

My friend Susan has been getting it done for a couple years now. I liked her face better before, but she likes that her face doesn't have unsightly lines now. So I just say, "Whatever pops your corn."

That's one of the reasons why I'm willing to give it a try. If half of my face goes numb at least it's only temporary. :D
In the case of collagen and restylene, (sp) if something goes wrong you petty much screwed. I could never take that risk.

It was the "plenty" in that sentence that I found hilarious, b/c really, it's RARE.

And, then there was the comment "Some of us are just luckier than others, I guess." b/c while that can be true, it is most often said by those with eating disorders or those denying they've had plastic surgery---not directed at you, just an overall in-general observation.

I don't judge either of the above. But, when you've had friends who've been in either or both scenarios, you'll find it's VERY hard to be their friend--b/c here this person is that you love and they're so smart and wonderful and yet there is something going on with them mentally, that they would do something very unhealthy to themselves or think to solve their problems they need to undergo a knife to fix something. And, you can't get through to these people sometimes. You just have to be supportive of them, remain their friend no matter how hard it is, and pray each day they come to a realization on their own and seek help for themselves.

I've been yelled at for various ridiculous things, as if I was "blessed" or something. B/c they don't see that I actually eat healthy 90% of the time and stay active, and moisturize and drink water, etc. etc. etc. I couldn't get mad at them for getting mad at me, b/c I knew it wasn't me they were mad at, but they were mad inside about things I couldn't help them with.

I guess I feel a little guilty, and go overboard sometimes on my soapbox, b/c there is one friend in particular I've never forgotten, but had to leave behind. She became like cancer to me. I tried so hard to always be there for her and help her out of these crazy scenarious she'd get herself in after doing things to herself and I was becoming so drained. She had a lot of "suitors" but no-one who really cared about her, and I felt obligated to be the one there for her. Eventually, I had to make the most difficult decision to stop being there for her.

To this day, I wonder how she is, and I pray for her. I've heard via old friends, she is same old, same old.

It's a slipperly slope.[:/]
Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

First of all I really should let this thread die in peace and I really should have resisted the urge to dig it out from page 3 but I just couldn't let it go

No, it really isn't. Allow me a few examples. One of my closest friends is a size 6 (she is also 5'11") and has a DD. Another close friend of mine is a size 0 and is a small D. A co-worker has to have her bras custom made because she is a DD but is so small around the chest that she can't buy bras in a store. And that's just a few of them

So I guess there is an unusually high percentage of anorexics and plastic surgery addicts around me. Must be my parfume.:S

I can't comment on that because I never had friends with those issues. While there are people out there who need a shrink rather than surgery it also helped many people to improve their self esteem. Just like fixing your teeth. You did mention earlier that you are obsessed with your teeth, right?

To this day, I wonder how she is, and I pray for her. I've heard via old friends, she is same old, same old.***

I sincerely hope she is OK

And to the thread: R.I.P.

Over and out (for good)
