Stevehend15 0 #1 April 25, 2006 You know that weird mood you get in at 3am..... Where your mind lingers and fades and you feel like your loosing touch of reality. Well, I am having one of those nights. Lately I have been very stressed and felt a bit like im going crazy. I know im not crazy but nonetheless its been a grinding time in my life. I am extremely happy that I have found skydiving. Its the one thing in my life that I have control over and lets me feel completely free from everything. Its incredible. Its ironic that what some people think is insane keeps me sane..... Anyway, I have 11 jumps and today I bought my first rig. Its a javelin container, 175 triathlon, 170ish Tempo, CYRPRES! I am very excited to jump it this weekend, its going to be my first sport jump and first self pack job. Double beer! But thats ok, I paid the beer fine last week when I had a runway lading at the same time as the jump plane (No injury). Happy to buy the DZ some beer for my shitty pilot skills. Gonna get my class A by the end of May! Sorry that you read this far into my ranting.... Im not sure if this is the right place for the post.... skymama 37 #2 April 25, 2006 I don't follow directions very well. I read it. Congrats on getting your new rig. That's always an exciting day for everyone. You're going to hate it the first time it gets dirty! If you feel you have shitty piloting skills, sign up for a canopy course. You will learn so much! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Stevehend15 0 #9 April 25, 2006 Damn, this is not the first time I have caused somebody to be flogged by wet noodles (sorry lil timmy, my bad). I was looking into doing a canopy course at deland when i get the cash.... Would that help me? Im fairly comfortable with flying the canopy until the last 20 feet, but I guess that is very common. Icon134 0 #10 April 25, 2006 So you're asking if taking a canopy course is a good idea and if you think that will help you be more comfortable? I'm gonna go with a yeah... that's a good idea... personally I'm quite comfortable under my canopy but I have taken a canopy course... and intend to do more... skymama 37 #11 April 25, 2006 If the search function was working, you would be able to find many happy customers of Scott Miller's canopy course. He will definitely be able to help you and I'm sure you'll feel more comfortable under your canopy after the course is done. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Stevehend15 0 #12 April 26, 2006 I have heard about the course at my DZ before and they all seemed to like it. I plan on taking it soon. I would have more confidence if I was more accurate with my landings. Im also a little nervous about stalling my canopy.... I still haven't got the nerve to really pull down on those toggles yet. Thanks for your tips and any others are greatly appreciated.
