leroydb 0 #1 April 26, 2006 http://soupnazi.org/archives/81/ OMG MYSPACE IS TEH EVUL!!!1111 Before I say anything else, let me say that I think MySpace is the epitomy of everything wrong with the Internet. Now, as much as I hate that site, one thing that I don’t understand is why people blame MySpace when they do stupid things and then things happen. For example, take this article from Fox 12 here in Portland. From the article: A Kalama mother says Myspace.com may have put her daughter in danger. That’s the first line of the article. If you read further, you’ll read how someone broke into the house they just moved out of, spray painted “I love Jackie” on the daughter’s walls, and left a rose on her pillow. What you’ll also read is this: Jackie had a Myspace profile that included photos and information about where she lived. DUH. Why in the hell would a 15 year old girl put information on MySpace about where she lived? Is she retarded? A little slow? Just plain stupid? Bad parenting? No common sense? Etc., etc., etc.. *Sigh* I’m sorry lady, but MySpace didn’t do this, your daughter did. You can blame teh interwebs and MySpace and whoever else you want, but you really don’t need to look any further than your obviously brilliant 15 year old. There are all sorts of news reports about MySpace and how evil/bad/easy for predators to use/etc. it is, but what it comes down to is that if you post half-naked pictures of yourself with directions to your house, someone is going to come looking eventually. I’m not saying that’s right, but that’s just how it is because people are fucked up. Also, before you start bitching, I don’t know if her pictures were half-naked, but a whole shitload of the pictures posted are (and the rest are the ever popular half-face shot; so hot). Ah, attention whores (OMG I HAVE 3000 FRIENDS!!!!111). Gotta love ‘em. Anyway, I’m getting off track here. Before you start blaming a web site for something, try placing the blame on where the fault lies; with the idiots posting their personal shit for every Tom, Dick, and Harry (or in MySpace’s case; Tyler, Brittney, and Zack) to see.Leroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio...
