My boyfriend has been asked if I can "be borrowed" for a moment with the hopes that if other girls see a man with a girl, suddenly, he's not just a man by himself, but a man with a girl who is seemingly interested in him and that makes him interesting. Hence, a wedding band would say the same thing only w/out actually having a woman there--which would seem even better for the man b/c he doesn't have to have a plan for you to leave when the time is right. I know...I didn't quite get it either at first These are the types of guys who typically use the ever-popular line "Hey babe. She was young and attractive and really liked that she didn't have to worry about any long-term committment and they would completely kiss her ass because they were either deprived at home or tired of sex with the same partner for lots of years. They would take her to really nice places, on great vacations, and so on--things which were beyond the financial reach of most guys her age. Interestingly, according to her, her parents had and really solid marrigage and had always been completely faithful to each other and her father was the only man her mother had ever been with.
