Help! I'm cat sitting for a week

Recommended Posts

Also, be careful with the laser pointer and not get it into her eyes...it can burn their retinas. I use mine on the wall...makes them try to climb it. LOL!

see if you can hold it on her paw... she'll swat at it with the other, then be confused as hell when it appears on the top paw... you can make them look like they're washing their hands if you time it right.... B|

:ph34r:at first she extended her paw really far and then did what you said she would:D OMG this is so funny...much needed entertainment...now she's tucking both paws under her chest:D

well I'm pooped of this lazer pointer game too..and want to head to sleep..now how do I get her to calm down and go to sleep? now that I wound her up all night?

if she's got her paws tucked under her chest like you would put your hands in your armpits to make chicken wings, you're good - she's chilled out for a while...

of course, there's no telling if she'll decide to take a rip through the house at 3 am... >:(

She hasn't responded to her name all night...so I called her Peanut..and she looks at me every time..hmmm

Maybe she's looking at you funny because she's thinking, "why are you calling me Peanut when my name is Spooky".

She didn't sleep all nite. Just roamed around the room and meowing until sunrise, then crashed at the foot of the bed.

Sounds like what I like to do.

Oh no...did you manage to get any sleep? Sometimes I just have to lock my cat out of my room at night because she wakes me up too much. It sounds like she has her days and nights mixed up!

You'd think that the lazer pointer games would've worn her out enough to sleep last night. So, tonight the plan is to put her in the bathroom down the hall.

Ugh. I had the cat sleeping between my shins, which prevented me from tossing and turning, though I did kick her in the head once. 'Course that woke me up, and then she retaliated by crawling up right in my face and sticking her whiskers up my nose.

Then she curled up onto my shoulder to make human flesh biscuits. Ouch.

I'm so sleepy. [:/]

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

You cannot wear a young cat out and putting her in the bathroom will cause her to meow and claw at the door all night.

The thing to do (and this works GREAT to ease a cat's anxiety after moving to a new place) is take some butter or margerine and smear it all over the cat's front legs. The cat will be very preoccupied with licking it off and will be very calm.

Say no next time they ask you to cat-sit. I used to always say yes to everybody with respect to these things. I started saying no and found I liked that word very much.

Today I finally gave "Spooky" back to her owner. Although she drove me nutz, it's kind of odd not having her around. Bob told me to put doublesided tape on her paws and watch her walk as if she has Romper Room stilts on:D and the lazer pointer was fun to play with too. She's up for adoption. Wish I had a pic to post but she's really young, energetic, pure white, and playful.

Well, if you miss her that much... adopt her... then you can have all sorts of fun tormenting her... :D

She's young and energetic now but give it a year and she'll calm down alot... even more after she's fixed...
