Valley Forge question

Recommended Posts

Hi... I had a bit of a pissing contest with an American at work today.... usual banter who dug who out of the shit and who kicked who arse.... you know how it goes:P

Anyway he contented that the Americans kicked our royal backside at Valley Forge and I larfed my tits off at him... (guaranteed steamB|). I told him that the only battle fought at that camp site was with the weather (bad winters in them days)... but he said that it was a battle field.

Anyone from PA know the local history?

I've been to Philidephia a few times.. A company at Chalfont (FMC) did some work for us when I worked for a London Newspaper.... nice peeps.
Never found out about the history of the area tho' (for shame).

Sounds like a sucky time.

They came there with 11,000 troops. Just in that winter, they lost 2,500 of them from starvation, exposure, and disease. More than we've lost in Iraq (with over 130,000 troops) in three years.
