Most Memorable Landing Stories

If you dont pull out a 4-way from 4200 and turn at least 4 pts with a clean break off, your wasting you time.

A good low cloud day is so much fun. Taking the CReW/base canopy out and leaving an airplane from under 2G, gives life a different perspective. mmmmm.

I think it might be a Cessna jumper kind of thing. It seems we just love anything we can get.

We're easy.

As a fellow Cessna jumper, I completely understand. I was just trying to knock the weather at Snohomish. ;)

My first landing.... about 5 hours ago.:)
Butt slide into the peas.

And I'm hoping to avoid many of the landings I just read about here. It seems the better a story is, the more you should avoid it happening to you.

erm...... 4200' and only 4 pts?

heheh... i was on a dive with Dave (livendive) where we turned a four way - 3 pts from 2400.....

everyone had a good canopy by 1800'

Congratulations! I wish you many more thousands of safe, and memorable, landings. :)

I once ate a barbed-wire fence on a rag-doll landing early in my skydiving experience.

I wanted to give people a goal and I said a clean brake off. That means 3000+, not blow them away with something hard and Dangerous.

open at 1800 is great but I'm sure you were set up for a sub 15sec 4stack build. I was on a three-way that turned nine from 3200 and we're not talking grip switches they were long two and one piece moves.

Those of us who have been around for a while have all done the low break off multi point skydive ( reminds me of 5 or 6 twenty ways in a row breaking off below 35 ). If you haven't your a better person then me.

granted we were closer than normal, but as I recall no one was dangerously close,
having a good canopy at 1800' means that we all pulled above the USPA D license minimum altitude.

I was with 3 experienced skydivers that I know and trust, I knew everyone would do their best to get away. This dive wasnt one I would do with people If I didnt know their abilities.

now a 20 way breaking at 3500..... thats crazy :P

The winner of the most memorable landing is Post #50. The prize is some of my famous Pumpkin Bread that I just took out of the oven. It will be in the mail to L.O. first thing in the morning.

Here is the winning line:

Landing Erika as a wife, was the best landing I ever made.

My most memorable landing wasn't mine.

I show up for my first tandem (right after HS graduation) with some friends and parents. While talking to the TM, he points out a student coming in on his final approach. The guy lands on the taxi way and instead of doing a PLF, he slides in on his knees. He walks over all bloody and my mom freaked out. She thought I was going to die.
