Daizey 0 #26 May 2, 2006 I grew up in a small town-where everyone knew each other. It was cool for awhile, then as I got older, it kinda sucked. I moved to just outside of NYC for college. I loved it. I still do somewhat. I love the city and all it has to offer. I'd love to live in the city for 6 months just to live the experience. I don't think I could stay there forever though. I'm not a big fan of the fast-pace as much as I am of the culture, diversity, entertainment, and convenience a city has to offer. However, I'm not directly in the city, I'm on long island, and the area where I live right now...let's just say these people I'm surrounded by are making me want to leave today! I will be leaving New York soon. I'm moving to Ohio. A far cry from NYC, but I'll be living in the suburbs of Columbus, which remind me a lot of where I am now-except a bit slower and with nicer people! I can deal with that. I'm not sure I could ever go back to the small town feel. I like having a large city right near by. It's what makes me happy and what works best for me. *daizey*

LisaM 0 #29 May 2, 2006 My brother is like that.... constantly telling us how wonderful it is. Yeah, right! And boasting about how he can walk places... yeah I'll bet that is great in the 20 below weather! I'll take my mountains and hiking out my back door any day! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder? CanuckInUSA 0 #31 May 2, 2006 QuoteI like the edge of the Burbs.... out in the country but no so far out I cant get into a city when I WANT to. I like that too except that I work downtown and the commute from the sticks (or the burbs) would suck. So while I don't live downtown with the rest of the "isn't city life great" people, I still live in an area of town which is much closer to the city lifestyle than the burbs and/or the sticks. What I really need to do is quit the computer biz and find some other form of work where I don't need to be remotely close to the downtown of big city. But I still haven't figured that part out yet. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
lawrocket 3 #32 May 2, 2006 I lived most of my life in suburban Los Angeles (which is freking huge). I have now moved to a comparatively pastoral existence in an area where roughly 800,000 live. I couldn't handle living IN a big city, i.e., downtown SF, etc. I probably COULD handle living in the country - I've found out that I like quiet. My wife is hotter than your wife.
