weegegirl 2 #1 May 3, 2006 I have to make them Friday at work for a party we are having. I have thrown stuff together on drunken nights with my friends, but I need a guaranteed recipe for the work party. Anyone? Bueller?
kelel01 1 #2 May 3, 2006 Just PLEASE make them on-the-rocks. I've never met a frozen margarita that I liked . . . so I only drink them if they're free.

I hate frozen too... always on the rocks... but I was asked to bring mixing stuff and blender.... big boss bringing tequilla... so I'm guessing they want frozen. CSpenceFLY 1 #6 May 3, 2006 I make me mass batches with the Cuervo mix 2 to 1,triple sec to taste.I would squeeze in one lime to a pitcher.I put my salt in the glass so I don't have to screw with getting it to stick to the glass. That mix is a little strong till the ice starts to melt. . Big boss is a rookie.. tell him your blender if broken and he needs to supply a massive amount of ice so you can make them on the rocks. Do whatever you can to talk him into not making them in the blender. You will go crazy trying to make them in the blender. chaoskitty 0 #10 May 3, 2006 Its a lot easier to make a lot of frozen than it is to make them on the rocks but heres both! Frozen: 1 can frozen lime juice concentrate 1/2 can tequila 1/3 can triple sec or cointreau blend over ice. If you want to get creative, get a bottle of "REAL SANGRIA" and pour it on as a topper. yum. Rocks: You'll need a shaker, fill it with ice, pour about 2/3 full of margarita mix or (preferably) lime juice. Add about 2 shots of tequila, and 1.5 shots of triple sec or cointreau. Shake it up. Repeat all night long becuase that only makes about 3 small drinks. Probably the only other thing you'll need is the drunk dial list.
GTAVercetti 0 #11 May 3, 2006 QuoteGreat. I can see it now. New kid at office gets whole team trashed. Next on the 10 o'clock news. Yes. Do NOT use only one lime. Particularly if your boss already requested a blender. That is basically tequila and triple sec with a splash of lime. Good ratios are (tequila/triple sec/lime) 2/1/1 3/1/3 3/1/2 Since your office folk like the blender, you may just want to go with a bottle of margarita mix instead. Simple and the lighweights will like it. Alternatively, you could premake a sours mix with a simple syrup and limes - 1 part lime to 1 part simple syrup). Simple syrup: 1 part sugar to 1 part water. I like the homemade better than store boughtWhy yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Good stuff. Grand Marinier - and it's a top shelf additive, makes them tastey. For the office party I wouldn't suggest getting this involved. rehmwa 2 #24 May 3, 2006 QuoteYou really don't need the lime in the Cuervo mix. It's already there. As the guy making the drinks and driving the wagon.... The problem here is using the premade 'mixes' is the worst move of all time. The mixes are TOO sweet. No wonder people just blanked out the reference to mixes - it was denial Limeade is best. Even using a mixer like fresca or something is way better than the horrible premixes...... As noted above, Grand Marnier is a nice premium change to use over Triple Sec. But don't go overboard on the high end tequilas. That stuff is best taken in shots (no salt, no lime thank you, straight), not wasted on Margaritas. Margaritas can use the cheaper tequilas (the Cuervos etc) to plenty good effect - ditto on the girly shots insisting the lime and salt. If they think they must have the salt and lime for a shot, give em the cheap stuff, they obviously don't really care. ...
