Just living in that area does brain damage. It's part of a cluster of 9 or 10 small towns that is essentially one HUGE small townish area. It's saturated with the feeling that there isn't much to do because, well, there really isn't a whole lot to do except get married, have kids, get a house and uh, drink. Where I lived there were *easily* a dozen bars within easily walking distance. I'm not saying the people there aren't nice. They are nice and it's a wonderful climate in the summer, but it's just a boring place to live and it does something to people living in that kind of place.
