Broke 0 #1 May 3, 2006 So here I was trying to decide what music to play. And I chose Ten by Pearl Jam. It has been a long while since I last listened to that album, but it is a good one.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Icon134 0 #2 May 3, 2006 What the fuck is this world Running to? You didn't leave a message At least I could have Learned your voice one last time. Daily minefield This could be my time How 'bout you? Would you hit me? Would you hit me? All the bills go by And initiatives are taken up By the middle There ain't gonna be any middle any more And the cross I'm bearing home Ain't indicative of my place Left the porch Left the porch Hear my name Take a good look This could be the day Hold my hand Walk beside me I just need to say... Hear my name Take a good look This could be the day Hold my hand Lie beside me I just need to say What can I take? I just want to be I know that i would not ever touch you Hold you Feel you Ever hold Never again That is a good album... I guess Pearl Jam has a new album out... who knew... NWFlyer 2 #3 May 3, 2006 Though I still love Pearl Jam and much of what they've put out since then, they are the classic example what I call the "blew their wad" band that put out a first album SO strong they couldn't possibly live up to it on subsequent albums. But they've done a lot better than a lot of bands at continuing to put out good to great stuff and staying fairly relevant. It's been a while since I've seen them... maybe this summer. One of the great things about living in Seattle is keeping an eye on the local club listings. Unless you know the band is on the road, chances are any time either 1) any member of Pearl Jam or one of its spinoff bands is playing or 2) some "friend of Pearl Jam" is playing.... show up because you're probably going to get an impromtu mini-show in a club far smaller than you ever imagined. I still have fond memories of a Neil Finn club show (which was amazing in its own right - I love all things Finn-related) that ended with Neil and Eddie for three or four songs. And a Brad/Mike McCready/Left Hand Smoke show that had a little bit of Pearl Jamming interspersed."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Valinda and I caught McCready at the Showbox the other week doing a benefit show with his "Flight to Mars" band. The Supersuckers opened and Eddie came out and sang with the FTM band a little, too. It was a good time. Wish you'd been there. New PJ album is supposed to be one of the strongest ones in years. "World Wide Suicide" single has been getting some airtime and sounds good.
