IMGR2 0 #1 May 3, 2006 I made a smart remark the other day and Skymama said it sounded like a good idea. So here's my question. I'm curious how many people would participate as well as how many other people would donate their skills to make a team to help the all-around competitor. IMGR2 0 #3 May 3, 2006 For instance, a meet with say FS, Freefly, CRW, Swoop, etc. A competitor signs up for all events and said skydiver gets scored on their performance through all the events and ranked against others doing the same. I used to rodeo when I was little and in rodeo a cowboy who roped, rode bulls, rode broncs and so on could enter in the "all-around". At the end of the rodeo the solo person with the most points won "All-around cowboy". Does that help?

skymama 37 #11 May 3, 2006 QuoteI made a smart remark the other day and Skymama said it sounded like a good idea. Wow, that's all it takes for you to start thinking about how to implement something? OK...I also think it's a good idea for you to move to FL and become my Sugar Daddy. Let me know when you're coming. All kidding aside, I still think it sounds like a really cool idea. Maybe you would have been better off posting this question in one of the serious forums. I think more of the people who would be interested read those forums more than Bonfire. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
PLFXpert 0 #12 May 3, 2006 Great idea. In all seriousness I wouldn't think there'd be many competeting in the "all-around". Most people stick to one or two disciplines and do them really well. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
IMGR2 0 #13 May 3, 2006 Gravitygirl: I thought of that and in the CRW events, if you didn't have one arrangements could be made. Skymama: I would post this in other forums but I remember a while back some greenie gave me a spanking for cross posting(is that what its called). PLFXpert: No offense but you have obviously not been in the sport long enough or been around enough. This event pulls from a skydivers ego as well as their skill. I personally know many skydivers that have the multiple skills. At nationals I watch a couple of them compete in more than one discipline and that is where I kinda started thinking about this. Thank you for your comment though, it makes me think.

PLFXpert 0 #16 May 3, 2006 QuoteNo offense None taken. Simply stating my thoughts. waltappel 1 #17 May 3, 2006 Quoteoffense but you have obviously not been in the sport long enough or been around enough. This event pulls from a skydivers ego as well as their skill. Good point. We need more skydivers with big egos! Especially the kind with the skygod mentality that makes them feel really good when they say stuff like: you have obviously not been in the sport long enough or been around enough. For what it's worth, I've been in the sport 28 years. I much prefer her attitude to yours. Walt
