Happily ever after...

Do you think it's possible to have it all?

Love, happiness, and stability?

yes - but it takes work that most people aren't willing to put forth.

What if you spend 18 years working and giving everything you've got only to discover that no matter how hard you work or no matter how much effort you put it - it will never be enough?

But there is this part of your brain that tells you that you are supposed to keep on trying?

I feel like one of those new guys on an ambulance crew. I keep trying to resuscitate the dead guy - the rest of the crew gave up hours ago and they are all waiting for me to realize that no matter what I do - I can't bring him back to life. I can keep trying - exhausting myself - only to reach the same result that I would have if I stopped long ago.

Grrrrr....

Sounds like it is a tough row.

I try - not successfully enough most of the time - to look at it like, I dunno, like I'm going to be here tomorrow - or not - but I'll enjoy it while I'm here. Seriousness is to much of a downer.

yes happily ever after exists. within yourself. not the outside world.

happiness is something you DO, not something you receive. and it's also not something you receive from the results of what you do.

happiness is a consciously adopted state of mind, independent of anything this world will ever give you.

(basically, you gotta figure out how to run your brain.:P;))

I call that "la la" land. It's a place with sunshine and happy songs. It also has eternal blue skies, 8-10 0-1 mph winds (no gusts : ), 75-80 degrees, and a climate controlled packing area.

Again - I must fix . . . :D

That's the truth. Work on both sides. Sounds like jj2004's problem is the work is all on one side.

That's a tough deal, a very tough deal. [:/]

Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

That sounds really good on paper : )

What was I thinking - being all down in the dumps????

Let me just kick my ass.

It's funny - I can break my ankle skydiving, get up, walk away and jump four days later.

However, I get a case of the flu and I turn into a cry baby.

It's especially difficult when you tell someone that you think they are being selfish and horrible and they say, "You're right. I always put myself first. I'm sorry. It doesn't even occur to me to think of you."

I've been waiting for 18 years for something to be different. I just feel pretty stupid. People don't change.

Again - what was I thinking?

I said that honesty was the most important requirement in a relationship - maybe I should have asked for compassion first.

I'm going to go crawl into a nice bottle of red wine - maybe it will make me forget who I am.

Wouldn't you rather it made you forget who I am?

Feeling better this morn? Sometimes just some alcohol, venting and SLEEP can help the mind recover from the pain of life.

Try to enjoy today.... even with the flu. This will all be over way too soon. Live each day as hard as you can.

Thanks Karen.

I'm very weak. I only had a glass of wine and it put me out.

I'm going to my DZ today - I don't know if I will be able to jump because I'm exhausted, but I need to get away from here and get some positive energy from my friends.

Have a great day!
