Let me tell you, it was tough finding that Luxardo Maraschino liquer that Hemingway used. It had to be ordered. Supposedly it makes a very different daiquiri than those sweet slurpees they serve in bars. I'll keep y'all posted. Maybe. if i feel like it. It is dry, not sweet at all, and yet fruit flavored all at the same time! VERY well balanced flavor!!Hemingway really knew something here. And it is sad to see that daiquiris got perverted into that sicky-sweet faggy drink. Guys, seriously. You've GOT to try a Hemingway Daiquiri!! SpeedRacer 1 #12 May 6, 2006 whatever. oh, and you gotta use fresh squeezed lime juice & grapefruit juice. I used VX Appleton rum. And I used RED grapefruit, so it's not quite so sour. Hemingway used a type of rum in Cuba that we can't get due to the embargo. But he used a light rum, so maybe that's something to think about. (appleton VX is dark) anway, tonight has been quite an educational experience. edited: also the Maraschino Liquer is hard to find. I had to have it special ordered. where TF is Vinnie??
