ffejdraga 0 #1 May 8, 2006 Let me start by seeing if any of you are out there. RC Helicopter pilots...check in. Questions to follow if any of you guys are out here... jeff D-16906

Questions? -------------------------- When we call your name, you will say "here", which will be short for, "here i am.... rock you like a hurricane" .jim"Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
ffejdraga 0 #3 May 8, 2006 Ok cool man. 1. If there was a device that enabled you to fly a RC helicopter more in the way one flies a real helicopter, would be inclined to purchase such a device? 2. If so, what would you pay for that type of device? jeff D-16906

TEB6363 0 #5 May 8, 2006 First of all - I love the pic of the fire extinguisher next to the Heli-chair .. I guess if the chair catches on fire, you can save yourself Now, that looks kinda like the opposit as the question. R/C helicopter is a tool to get visual feedback about being the pilot of a real helicopter. Which is an interesting concept, but does not work in real life as soon as you turn the R/C around. Now if you are talking about flying an R/C better because you have more 'standard' controls.. I would not be interested.. I don't think there would be any way to compensate for the orientation of the helicopter during aerobatics that you would be able to process.. Hell, just learning nose-in and inverted flight with the R/C is difficult on my small mind .. I think the best approach is to learn how to minipulate the controls to obtain a response from the R/C helicopter to obtain the correct response (backwards, fwd, upside down, etc..) you are flying the machine, not trying to transpose you being the pilot.. I was out watching Danny Szabo last weekend.. He is remarkable at his age (17) and probably gonna catch his brother Allan some day.. BTW, last year I took Alan Szabo, Jr. for a Tandem after the Vertical Challange R/C Helicopter event here in California.. He is also a full-scale helicopter pilot and was very aware during the jump. Not scared at all Just my thoughts. Sorry, was that supposed to be a "yes or no" question Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!! Ok, so what you are saying is that as an RC heli pilot interested in aerobatics, you wouldnt use this type of chair? Gotcha thanks for your input man! jeff D-16906 edited for spelling
