Kiss Pass... Passe'?

I received my first kiss pass from Kevin Gibson on my check dive. Since then I gotten them from Rob Lowe, Scary Perry and Scottie Carbone. It occurred to me that each of these men have well over a decade of experience and thousands of jumps each.

Are kiss passes out of vogue now?

Does anyone know how and when this tradition started?

Nope - I typially kiss my g/f every time we jump together on a 2 way - and that's a bunch

But I suppose since I've never kissed a girl on the ground I shouldn't be too suprised...

a kiss pass should be a kinda of surprise.
well at least the first one should be. it just kinda makes it fun. but if someone you dont know tries to kiss pass ya it can be unwanted and cause problems.


for the record I kiss pass, but I see how the idea kind of faded. oh yea, some think it should be a tongue thing. i don't. If I Kiss passed my gf its ok but its not really cool to be fucking around with friends g/f's or b/f's it just adds too much drama

Kiss passes are good. But all those damn full-face helmets make 'em kinda difficult these days. It's sad.

the best way to avoid that one is to do like the 3 stooges and put your fingers out so they run their eyes right into them LOL

I'm pretty sure all of my kiss passes have been with a guy (Hi, IMGR2 ).

I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.

I've done One. It was sort of discussed /joked about and then when we finally jumped together and the moment presented itself it happened.

Word of advice though. Get a good pucker/lip lick before because all that wind makes for some pretty dry lips.

I'm anxiously waiting for my second.

At a DZ I worked at we had a female A license grad that was horrified at her first kiss pass. At that point I saw good reason for never participating in that tradition.

I have never received a kiss pass. I did have a couple ladies I was suppose to do a 3 way FF with do a count in the door and let me exit all by myself while laughing and waving from the door. I didn't find it funny.

I'm not sure that's the same thing... its a different thing entirely... for the married/taken people to do a kiss pass on a single gal... but an entirely different thing for a potentially perceived "horny, undesired, single guy" to do the same thing... at least in my opinion... of course I'm weird...

now if I was jumping with my girlfriend then it would be different... I wouldn't take issue with doing a kiss pass..

And yes, I was glad that it had been explained to me before it ever happened. It might have freaked me out otherwise.

After breaking my ankle and not jumping for 4.5 months, I became recurrent in Oct. 2004. I then stopped jumping again, shortly afterwards, until a few weeks ago. I was klss passed on both days of my recurrency. The first recurrency, I moved my face away quickly, but a second later, I realized what he had tried to do, so I kissed him back. I had done kiss passes prior to that, but I wasn't expecting this one. Yet, I thought it was done as a sweet, spontaneous "congratulations" gesture by the coach for my welcome back to the sky. My BF back then, a whuffo surfer, who had gone to the DZ with me that day, since it was during Chick's Rock, chuckled when I told him. He was not offended by the kiss pass. It's so innocent, after all, to get kissed while skydiving.
On my second jump back a few weeks ago, my female coach/friend, a male friend and myself did a three-way kiss pass. We actually had the third person side docking while the other two did a two-way star and kissed, then we kept alterating, until we all side docked/kissed each other. It was a very nice skydive. We went through it a couple of times and dropped the kiss passes after the first time that we all finished kissing. It was very innocent and sweet, and I loved how special it was to share that with two good friends.

yes tradition that i have no prob with but i know of a few who we're not willing to be the brunt of the other end of lips.
