indyz 1 #27 May 9, 2006 Only one, for doing 75 in a 45 construction zone. Somehow that one only cost me about $125 (paid in full; it was out of state so I didn't show up in court and beg or anything). I've also been pulled over three times for dirving without headlights and never ticketed -- I think if you are sober and polite they almost always just tell you to turn them on and send you on your way. downwardspiral 0 #28 May 9, 2006 No tickets for 8 years. Then I bought a crotch rocket. Was on the 405 north of Santa Barbara and forgot about a particular spot the CHP likes to hide in. Estimated speed when I went by was probably 115 mph. He gave me 85 in a 65 most likely because he was amused. He had a shit eating grin for some reason. He says to me....if you woulda ran I woulda....hehe forgot the rest. 4 months later I got clocked doing 105 mph by a CHP cop on a harley. Heh it took him 15 miles to catch me. I wasn't running, I was just having fun and I never saw him til it was too late. I don't think he believed me . Turned out I had forgotten about the first ticket and not only was I driving wrecklessly, my license was suspended. The judge gave me the chance to get my license back and consequently, once I got my license back, the charges were dropped on the wreckless driving and failure to appear . Ended up with a a $500 fine and 10 days community service. So 2 tickets in 3 years which is not bad considering that I hauled ass everywhere I went and took my motorcycle 99% of the time. But its not my fault really, I swear there is a ghost in that machine because it just will not slow down. Over the last year I haven't ridden much. Currently its in the shop for maintenance getting it ready for summer gas prices. Wish me luck. www.FourWheelerHB.com
hobbes4star 0 #29 May 9, 2006 I got 3 tickets at one stop before; Exhibitionist driving, crimminal speeding (86 in a 35) and and street racing. before you all lose it and tell me about how bad street racing is, it was in a warehouse district at 3am with only 4 people on the road at the start line and 2 at the finish.if fun were easy it wouldn't be worth having, right? Muenkel 0 #31 May 9, 2006 In the past 5-6 years, 1 speeding ticket and 1 accident. The accident was dumb. I was accelerating on an entrance ramp and a dog suddenly darted toward me from the left. I swerved to avoid him and sideswiped a guard rail. Here's the kicker, in Massachusetts, if you are the cause of a 'major' accident they whack you with a surcharge on your insurance for 6 years. $360 per year in my case. What makes it really suck is that they define a 'major' accident as one that causes a minimum of only $1000 damage. Shit, the damage to my car was $7200 and it was mostly cosmetic. Here's a pic of the damage. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

EDYDO 0 #33 May 9, 2006 About 5, all for speeding and all on the way to the DZ (never leaving). In North Carolina I had to hire an attorney (Raeford) and in Florida I had to take a skydiving day and go to traffic school ( Lake Wales) !!!! Ed
NWFlyer 2 #34 May 9, 2006 Last one was in 1997. In the 10 years before that, I had four speeding tickets and one ticket for "failure to maintain proper control of my vehicle" (accident at age 16). That's it. I've chilled out in my old age. "There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. lawrocket 3 #37 May 9, 2006 It's interesting. We've probably got about 120 tickets between about 20 people out of 115 that voted. Between about another 100 people, we've got a maximum of about 135 tickets. My little informal poll indicates that about 45 percent of the tickets are gotten by about 15 percent of the population. Knowing the true numbers could only adjust the percentage higher by my estimates. Very interesting... My wife is hotter than your wife.
