lawrocket 3 #12 May 8, 2006 Happiness is nothing more than the aggregate of the small positives of my life. Individually, most of these positives are small or miniscule, and most do not individually amount to much. But the total of these individual things is vastly greater than the sum of their individual parts. Happiness are all those little things and being able to appreciate them. When the burdens outweigh the enjoyment of the little things, that is usually a sign of unhappiness. I do NOT confuse happiness with sensation, as I used to. Sex is a great sensation that can temporarily hide unhappiness. Many things in our lives do that. But it was not until it dawned on me on day a couple of years ago, "Hey, I'm happy" that I realized how unhappy I was when I thought I was happy. I live a generally dull existence. And I'm happy with that. My wife is hotter than your wife.

davedlg 0 #18 May 8, 2006 Happiness is... The view from the summit of a mountain. The exhiliration of landing at sunset after an awesome jump. The end of a long workday. Toasting at the bar with good friends...even if no one else knows what we are saying. Drinking a beer while sitting at the oars of a raft 100 miles from civilization on a beautiful desert river most people have never heard of. Waking up at 3am and finding out I still get to sleep for 4 more hours.
