driego 0 #1 October 15, 2007 I'm selling my Dolphin rig and I'd like to get an idea of it's value. I've been out of the sport for a long time so I've lost my bearings. The main is a PD 190 or 195. I think the reserve is somewhere around a 130 PD. 400 jumps (I've never jumped it). A cypress AAD that hasn't been inspected in at least two years but appears to still work fine. Everything else looks clean. Please help if you can, thanks!
sdctlc 0 #2 October 16, 2007 you might want to pony up a bit more and accurate info.... I would look under the riser covers and get the Dolphin size, harness size and DOM. The packing card should have some info on the reserve including the make, size and DOM. It might also have some info on the Cypress as wqell. Are you the first owner, if not how many jumps have you put on on the estimated 400 jumps. Age of cypress will make a big difference in overall price as well as the main i.e. if it is an all F111 canopy or if it is something different. Could be worth 1000 could be worth 1500 but cant say wioth out more info on the components. Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
porpoishead 8 #3 October 16, 2007 dolphin pd 190 main pd 130 reserve 400 jumps and someone used to jump that setup??? dont think you will find many interested buyers for that setup if your info is correct. try posting serial numbers and date of manufact. on the individual components, then you might be able to ballpark. something seems kinda fishy here.if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell
Hausse 0 #4 October 16, 2007 No offense but does somebody miss a dolphin rig?
Unstable 9 #5 October 16, 2007 I miss my Dolphin. Dang, that this was comfy. Anyways, I would disagree with some of these Posts. A used Dolphin, with a PD 190 Main could serve a younger jumper well as he gets into the sport. Yes, the PD190 was never a Rocket or a Kool Kid Kanopy, but It will server the purpose safely.=========Shaun ==========

Not sure of your experience since some of the info you give suggests a lack of knowledge of 'modern' (square?) equipment. Perhaps your best bet would be to take it into Skydive San Diego and let someone in the gear or rigging shop/loft there take a look at it.*************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus. wildfan75 1 #7 October 16, 2007 But I don't think the 130 reserve would be serving a young jumper well. I think that's the red flag everyone is seeing.
DougH 270 #8 October 16, 2007 I am interested to see if it is actually a 130 reserve. If it is a d3, which holds around a 190 main, then the container should be sized for a 170 reserve."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
stratostar 5 #9 October 16, 2007 It could be a D-2 that will hold a 190 just fine. I have a D-1 with a 170 main in it & a 150 res.you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

PD doesn't make a 130 reserve as far as I know. Also just from looking at the picture, if the main is in fact a pd190 there is no way that reserve is only 130 square feet. So, to the owner, dig out the datacard and take a look at what you really got there.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. porpoishead 8 #12 October 17, 2007 yeah right, more like a d-5 or d-6 with a pd235 and a small for the container pd190 in it. typical student/bigboy or downsize main from a 230ish first rig. makes more sense that way, or as you stated it's what it looks like from the picture.if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell
