If you pay the balance off at the end of every month, like Amex, you're good to go, it actually HELPS your credit score. Credit cards are only evil when you pay the minimum balance or whatnot. Then you get totally screwed. Perfect world: All charges go to Amex except one monthly recurring - like the NY Times Delivery or something. That way, you pay everything off on the Amex, pay the one mastercard NY Times bill each month, and have 2 perfectly clean credit cards.
