Need $28000. Anyone got fundraising ideas?

howdy all

To cut an extremely boring story short, I need ways to help raise cash to send our rowing team of four overseas. We are checking into corporate sponsors and hope to strike it lucky. But as most good plans usually fail I need ideas for fundraising. We have a party or two planned. They should raise a couple thousand each. A 1000 cans of beer raffle. And I am seriously considering selling my ass virginity on ebay. So if anyone who swings that way could chime in, is the experience that horrendous?

So any ideas that can raise some cash. Cool raffles or something of the like. I'll do anything.

It for a 4 man scull rowing team, we have NO finacial suport for athletes in Oz. No one get sponsorship and the Govnt does virtually nothing to promote talent so if anyone has any novel fund raising idea (for a legitimate course pops), let pedder know your ideasHe's a good kid and working very hard to make his team a success

Are there any universities near you? When my rugby team needed new uniforms and money for the season, we would grab someone's old pickup truck and go around to the frat houses on Saturday and Sunday mornings and collect cans. You would be shocked at the amount of money you can make doing that. Unless of course it's a keg party. But you hit up 10 to 15 college party houses for their cans, and you will be making bucks.

When we get to Belgium we will be something of a novelty. Im the biggest in my crew at 6'2. The average height of last years germans was 6'8.

Will be back on the DZ early August Squeak. Finally finish off those B-rels. And I've begun piecing together a rig. (uni grant)

Silent auctions can be very profitable. We do them at our school to raise money. You'll have to pound the pavement for donations.
