As I recall, alligator tail is kind of fatty--sort of like pork chops. Frog legs were kind of like chicken dark meat. I don't think I've had any snake. Rattle snake is good. But I wouldn't say it tastes like chicken. Never tried frog legs. Inquiring minds are wondering why you are asking this question Be yourself! Icon134 0 #4 May 15, 2006 I went frog gigging with some friends one weekend just after graduating highschool... after a night of gigging we had fresh frog legs... the process was very disturbing... but the legs weren't too bad (although there wasn't a whole lot of meat... and um... yep... it was a bit like chicken.) swedishcelt 0 #6 May 15, 2006 Yeah, kind of like rubbery chicken or like a cross between shrimp and chicken but rubbery a little.

Snowwhite 0 #10 May 15, 2006 I've had alligator cooked several different ways. I was told it tasted like chicken. Hmm, not what it tasted like to Me, but oh well. What I want to know tho is WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU TRY TO KILL AN ALLIGATOR IF IT WAS JUST GONNA TASTE LIKE CHICKEN? I mean wtf? Isn't it about a thousand times easier to kill and cook a chicken?skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
racer42 0 #11 May 15, 2006 Strange,.. we were talking just today, about all the different kinds of critters we had tried. We found your selection to be overall not bad. However we had to draw the line at possum and raccoons. Pretty nasty stuff that.L.A.S.T. #24 Co-Founder Biscuit Brothers Freefly Team Electric Toaster #3 Co-Founder Team Non Sequitor Co-Founder Team Happy Sock
masterblaster72 0 #12 May 15, 2006 I've eaten all three. Alligator and frog do taste similar to chicken, though the texture is a bit more rubbery and less like a meat like chicken is. Snake is a bit different, chewier and less flavorful. It's also a pain in the ass because it's mostly bone and it takes quite a bit of work to get the meat off the vertebrae. Snake was probably the most interesting meal of the three since I had it killed in front of me and was served the blood, gall bladder and beating heart in a flask of rice wine before they cooked it in four different ways (this was in Vietnam). Of these three I much prefer frog legs because they're meatier have the most flavor. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

popsjumper 2 #22 May 15, 2006 I did get to try dog in VN...rather bland and a little on the tough side but not bad all in all. Frog legs are good stuff...several have already described the taste and texture. Possum...I didn't get much of a taste for it because it was cooked in a pot of greens that overpowered everything else. Rabbit was stringy and I can't describe the taste except to say not like chicken. No snake that I can recall at this time.My reality and yours are quite different.
