leapdog 0 #2 May 18, 2006 I followd the same mindset as a teen. Congrats on the purchase. I'm not sure it is such an ordinary thing. I would like the purchase but I have no idea where to begin except find a realtor. I'm not even sure that is the best thing. ChrisL 2 #3 May 18, 2006 First thing I did was figure out what I could afford, then I went to a mortgage guy and got pre-approved for a mortgage for that amount, once I had that I started lookin on the internet realtor sites, once I found some suitable places I contacted the realtor and made appointments to look at them. The realtor took me through the rest of the process fairly easily once I had decided what I wanted to buy...__ My mighty steed
tmaricle55 0 #4 May 18, 2006 Congrats... welcome to the new Money Pit!! I bought mine about 5-6 years ago - I am 33. Always so shocked how much time and energy it takes. You go from calling someone saying "hey, this needs fixed" to, "oh, I got to fix it or find someone who can and pay them". It is a GREAT investment for you and your family.
