littleredfrog 0 #1 May 19, 2006 I have to come up with a thesis idea... wondering if anyone had any input. By the way... Im getting my degree in sport psychology... Here are some possibilities I have thought of so far.. 1. the importance of a preperformance routine in improving performance in sport (basically giving people a routine to do and see if they improve versus random routines and no routine) 2. self-presentational anxiety (like worrying about how others perceive you) as a possible explanation for deviance in sport (this would involve some kind of survey... or my prof had an idea of how to do this one) 3. addictive properties of extreme sports like skydiving (basically an excuse to use my friends as guinea pigs and rationalize living at drop zones MB# 4012

Damn, that's a tough combination! The cognitive side of skydiving would seem to be an interesting area, though, because that part of the brain seems like it tends to shutdown when the adrenaline gets heavy, e.g., "brainlock" and sensory overload.
