JENNR8R 0 #1 May 20, 2006 So jumpjunkie2004 is driving to the beach and talking to me on the telephone when an unmarked police car stops her. He said that she was going 79 in a 65 mph zone. He let her off with a written warning... Now her question is how long will that warning stay in the police computers. She'll be in deep kimchee if she is caught speeding again with it in her file. She wanted me to ask you. I think she's hoping that it will be gone before the weekend is over...What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday. orangemagoo 0 #5 May 20, 2006 Sarah, Sarah, Sarah ... You should be fine, but I'll try and check for you on Monday ... I'll get into the system at work and check on your "contact" sheet. You criminal. Am I checking in Maryland, or somewhere else? Here's a confessional ... the only time I did not identify myself as a cop when pulled over for speeding, I got a ticket. It was on the way to the dropzone last year. I was running late for load one. Magoo
Broke 0 #6 May 20, 2006 It is kinda like when you warn someone not to do something or you'll kick their ass. You havent kicked their ass et, but you will if they repete their behavior. Most often cops will give warnings because they are in a good mood, or they just don't wan to do the paperwork. They are also more likely to give someone a warning if they have a clean liscence.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. That is exactly what happend to me last night Got nailed doing 49 in a 35 at 12:39am on the way home from work. Cop was totally cool, I didnt ask for the warning, as far as I was concerned I was busted. But he said since I had a clean record that he decided to give me a written warning. Men in blue - care to weigh-in? I would think any type of argument would get you anywhere but deeper in SHIT! He also went on to tell me that anyone that asks for warnings he normally wont give them. But I guess I just got lucky last night. I am a firm believer in if you get busted you get busted. He is doing his job, period. No point in me getting upset with him etc. He just decided to be a nice guy last night. He stepped back and died laughing... and said why, yes I am! Seems my inner voice failed me on that one! Yes, I got the ticket. Muff Brother # 3883, SCR # 14796 ICD # 1 - Pres. Lindsey 0 #18 May 20, 2006 I get LOTS of warnings, but they (state police) have never mentioned seeing a previous warning in their computer when issuing me a new one. So I'm not thinking they stay in there for very long. But I'm sure it varies by state. linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. matt1215 0 #20 May 20, 2006 I've had lots of warnings. Having out of state lic/plates and my base sticker has helped me a few times. Ironically only time I got a ticket was visiting my home state.
