Muenkel 0 #26 May 19, 2006 Wow, I didn't expect such wonderful replies! A little background on my parents. They got engaged only 2 months after they met. My mom had a thriving singing career. She cut a record at age 15 and performed on Broadway. She gave up her career when she got pregnant with my oldest sister. She was a dear friend of Irwin Kostal who composed the music for the film 'Sound of Music'. In fact, she was asked to audition for the role that went to Julie Andrews, but she turned it down because she was pregnant with me. My parents met many challenges throughout their marriage, but they stayed true to their committment. Family is everything to them which is why all my siblings are my best friends to this day. About the 8 kids, my parents always wanted a big family and that's what they got. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Thanks folks for your very generous wishes. I know this thread will put a huge smile on their faces.Love ya all, Chris _________________________________________ Chris

turtlespeed 226 #28 May 19, 2006 Wow - what patience and understanding it took to get where you are. May the other fifty be just as blessed. Joke: Yakov Smirnoff: How did you stay married FIFTY Years? What is your secret? Man - Well when we got married, we both decided on one thing. I wasn't going to run her life . . . and I wasn't going to run MY life. It has worked beautifully ever since.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

RkyMtnHigh 0 #30 May 19, 2006 QuoteTomorrow is my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. They raised 8 kids and have 18 grandchildren. They are truly the nicest people in the world. Here's where you come in. They tend to think that skydivers have a freak streak....go figure. I thought it would be cool if you folks wrote whatever you wanted to them in honor of their anniversary and I would print it out and present it to them. Granted, they may blush or think we're all sick as fuck; but it would be a lot of fun for them. So, what do you say...would you help me out? BTW, their names are Ed and Mary and they are 74 and 70 resepectively. They have awesome senses of humor. Thanks in advance, Chris 50 years together...wow. Congrats to Ed and Mary! Wishing you many more years of happiness together _________________________________________
jceman 1 #31 May 19, 2006 Congratulations Ed and Mary. 50 years is a long time; my wife and I are 12 years behind you and looking forward to the coming times. All the times have not been great, but the down times have never been all that bad -- I can only hope the same applies to you two. I only know one of your children, Chris, and only know him on-line, but if the other seven kids have turned out to be half the gentle man (and gentleman) that he has, you have made this world a nicer place. Thank you. Happy 50th Anniversary. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them? ladyskydiver 0 #35 May 21, 2006 50 years is a very impressive accomplishment. The love, communication and understanding has got to be out of this world. My very best congrats and best wishes to your parents. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
