PLFXpert 0 #1 May 22, 2006 OK, so Saturday night I had not one but two absolutely sick dreams---Evil people burning alive, a mad man chopping body parts off a child---I mean, really disturbing. What's scary is usually there is something recognizable in a dream--like the setting (an old house you grew up in) or a person (someone you knew in high school) or something, or a scene from a movie. NOTHING in either dream was recognizable to anything past or present I had seen or heard. Last time I checked, my last name was not King, so I'm wondering how my mind even conjured up such gruesome images. Has this ever happened to anyone else?Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
Peej 0 #2 May 22, 2006 I know how you feel. I went through a stage of having really vivid nightmares. Man they were so real. Stuff like being forced to drink human blood. I still have violent dreams from time to time, almost all of them involve me having to fight someone or something off but it's like i'm underwater and i can't build up the strength to do it. In one part, I was in a strangely architectural house with evil, deformed non-people (Some had horns, some had sharp teeth, so to call them "people" isn't accurate). I knew there was to be a fire and all would burn except a few and I knew I was one of the few who would survive. This one female kept attacking me with this chain with a smooth round metal ball on each end. I took it from her and tried to hit her back with it but I missed every time. I kept trying and trying and missing and the balls would clank together creating a spark. When I realized this, I clanked them over a big, dried up/dead plant and started the fire that spread almost instantly and everyone started burning except me as I escaped behind a couple other "survivors" down through a hatch in the floor into another room. I mean.....really, really .Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

PLFXpert 0 #8 May 22, 2006 QuoteI think its time to start writing movies...Just my 0.02 worth. Good Will Hunting has already been done I do write. I was a magazine journalism major. I don't think I'll be giving Steven King or Anne Rice a run for their money, though, any time soon. I do REALLY love scary movies though---but not gory ones. I like suspense thrillers. I love when a movie makes me hold my breath for long periods of time. I think that's why I'm so great a free-divingPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back. PLFXpert 0 #9 May 22, 2006 That reminds me of that American Express commercial with M. Night Shyamalan. He's eating dinner alone at a restaurant and suddenly sees all sorts of creepy people/things. Then the waitress interrupts him with the check (He was daydreaming). I thought that was pretty coolPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back. kelel01 1 #10 May 22, 2006 Are you wearing a nicotine patch? I've heard that those can cause dreams like that.
PLFXpert 0 #11 May 22, 2006 Nooooooooo! I'm not a quiter! Ha! I've never been a smoker though. I tried a puff once in my life--that was the extent of my "experimentation". I had to know what all the fuss was about. But frankly, I think they're nasty. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
SkydiveStMarys 0 #12 May 22, 2006 Maybe a little added stress in your life that is "showing up" in the form of a dream...or maybe...this is from my personal experience...every dream I have that is disturbing..in fact had one last night that woke me with a jolt...is because I was hot...now now...I mean..my bedroom was stifling...its been extra hot the last few days where we live....maybe that could be a reason. PLFXpert 0 #13 May 22, 2006 I don't know---I've been temperature hot before in bed and not had nightmares. I can't remember if I was temperature hot or not Saturday night. I'll ask Billy, he'll remember--b/c I usually throw a dramatic tantrum in bed when I wake up hot, throwing off the covers and his arm simultaneously while gasping "I'm hot!"Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
