Those Shadows are good bikes. Enjoy yourself, take a safety course and I recommend reading Proficent Motorcycling for a good read.

Beyond that, be sure to stay away from sites like www.scootworks.com and www.phatperformanceparts.com since they'll stuck your wallet dry when you start buying other things for you bike.

here is my Shadow 1100. I have a new trunk on teh back that matches the bike. Shadows are great rides!

Sweet! I am developing a tremendous fondness for Oregon brew, It's a done deal! My riding buddy has a Honda Shadow and I have to say I am impressed with that motorcycle. He might join me on the trip up. My folks live outside of Portland. Do you have a riding partner? For me doing solo rides is fun but after a while It's like doing a lot of solo's. I prefer small RW (4way) or small riding groups It intensify's the experience for me.
