Shell666 0 #1 May 26, 2006 Well, last Friday (the 19th) I went and had Lasik and boy am I HAPPY!! Today, one week later, I went for my 2nd post op and my vision is currently a little better than 20/20. There's still some healing to go and a little swelling to go down but I am FREE of glasses and contacts for the first time in about 30 years and my vision is still going to get a little better! If anyone is considering having it done, I HIGHLY recommend it! And it was nearly as scary as I thought it would be. Best $2000 I ever spent! Shell666 0 #3 May 26, 2006 QuoteWhat type of vision did you have prior to the surgery? Were you nearsighted? Yep. Nearsighted. About -3.75 in both eyes and a slight astigmatism in my right eye. I'm still having a little trouble focusing with my right eye (especially if it's dry and if I'm tired) but it's still a little swollen and hasn't healed as well as my left eye has. I have to use more drops in that eye for the next while but they're confident it'll heal up in no time! I've noticed that my vision is improving each day as it is. I had Zyoptix Wavefront Lasik (http://www.lasikmd.ca/en/lasik-md/zyoptix-custom-wavefront.html) and even the next day, I could see quite well (a little blurry but not too bad - I was driving the next afternoon!) ffejdraga 0 #4 May 27, 2006 Awesome! I had it done about 5 or 6 years ago, it was great, and still is. Keep those drops handy, and after a time you wont need them that often. I still keep some around for that bit of dryness everyonce in a while. (although living in AZ probably has something to do with it.) Best thing ever! My night vision is so crisp and clear after having it done, no regrets at all. I have noticed the slightest bit of out of focus when I am super tired, both morning and night, but it not even that bad at all. Good choice, enjoy your freedom...start wearing sunglasses skydiving after a while, no more limited goggle selection or having contacts come out during skydives, trying to deal with landing with one eye...all over! be religious about those plastic eye covers for sleeping, and same goes with the drops for now. Enjoy! jeff D-16906
SkyDaemon 0 #5 May 27, 2006 Congratulations. :-) I had LASIK about four years ago, and loved it then, and continue to love it. Welcome to a corrective lens free world :-) -=Raistlinfind / -name jumpers -print; cat jumpers $USER > manifest; cd /dev/airplane; more altitude; make jump; cd /pub; more beer;
