smiles 0 #1 February 12, 2003 You know how your 2-liter Coke bottle always goes flat after a few days, no matter how hard you tighten the cap? Well, you can keep it just like when you first opened it indefinitely if you store it upside-down after you open it...... at the Coke surface, there's only plastic and a fixed quantity of air. p.s. Remember to upright the bottle before you open it. Smiles
SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 February 12, 2003 Add a bit of blue tack to the cap as well to stop the bottle sliding when it's upside down helps a little bit.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

slim 0 #4 February 12, 2003 actually the best thing to do is mix it with a 5th of whiskey, it won't last long enough to go flat >>> A good friend will bail you outta jail... dterrick 0 #5 February 12, 2003 Oooooh, Karen, I bet you're gonna get a physics lesson from someone smarter than me on that one... (I just don't know who)... but I'll try to make an arguement against in DZ english... Do the bubbles now try to float "down" and thus stay in the drink?I think the problem surrounding big bottles is the VOLUME of air that can be compressed. ISTR that a liquid will abosorb Co2 to a certain extent based on temperature and pressure. Given that a full bottle contains almost no air and super-saturated drink there is nowhere for the Co2 to go. When you recap the bottle the C02 leaks out of the drink and into the new airspace and it re-pressurizes the bottle - but by then it's also gone out of the drink. Much the same is a 'sloppy pour' where all the fizz gets shaken out and the remaining drink is left flatter than it would be if poured gently. The other solutions: - waste the last 1/2 - 2l is almost as cheap as 600 ml -lower your standards and kwitcherbichun -switch to beer (so much for the leftovers problem) Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
Nevets 0 #6 February 12, 2003 Just drink your pop flat. I used to set a glass out at night so it was warm and flat in the morning. Some people like coffee in the morning, i used to prefer warm flat POP(yes its pop).

KawiZX900 0 #8 February 12, 2003 squeeze the air out of it. and tightnen cap.
