jdthomas 0 #26 June 4, 2006 Here in kansas the armadillos are just starting to show up more and more, I don't know much about them but I do know about turtles. they are pretty good to eat as well. But I would urge you to be carefull when picking up turtles. snapping turtles can get you and you could possibly loose a finger in the process. micro 0 #28 June 4, 2006 QuoteAnd no, I don't mean Turtlespeed. Recently, I have seen many turtles crossing the street (which makes me cry everytime, b/c I want to go back and help, but I'm afraid I'll go back and it'll be squished). But I have to wonder, where are they going? What made them want to cross the street? I was on the way to the dz today and saved a turtle from getting squished in the middle of the road! i gave it a right good scolding too. bad turtle! it was a cute box turtle. he stuck his tongue out at me. then he peed. i put him down and went jumping. We stop and move them all the timeOnce we saw one get hit (by the car in front of us) and saw him mid-air 4 ft and flung off to the side. We pulled over and Billy found him and said he was flipped over but looked fine so he put on the bank of a creek nearby. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. Royd 0 #34 June 4, 2006 QuoteHell my house back in Florida has two of the damn things living in the front yard! They just come around and dig a hole and set up camp! BastardsThose are Gopher tortoises. They don't stay in the same hole all year. I acatually had one dig its home under a peice of buried concrete that I didn't know was in the yard until I decided to fill in the hole. Pretty amazing.
