NlghtJumper 0 #1 June 5, 2006 Ok, I am just looking for oppinions here. I have a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS that I am planning on droppin a lot of money into mods for it. One thing that I think looks really sik is lambo doors, but I have never seen any pics of a Spyder with them. I am wondering if there is a reason for that [like maybe it will look like complete shit]. What do you guys think? Should I go for it? SkydiveStMarys 0 #5 June 5, 2006 "Lambo doors" are for well....Lambos. Being a girl...IMO...I think those type of doors other then being on a car that is SUPPOSED to have them is just over the top. SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 June 5, 2006 Actually, I think they are pretty trick. Two things of note: -there are at least two companies that sell bolt-on kits to fit pretty much any "tuner" car. The kits I have seen have you open the door outward like normal about six inches, then they pivot up. Very clean. -the ones I have seen didn't appear to swing high enough (like the ones in the pic) and those cars looked like they would be very hard to get in and out of. Kris 0 #8 June 5, 2006 They are pretty trick, when done right. A big gotcha is that if one is going to use doors like that, you're going to really need to beef up the point where that hinge is going to be. Weld on some more metal or it's going to torque out and tear itself apart over time. Not to mention that you'll need to keep pretty tight tolerance to make sure the door always lines up. Squeak 17 #16 June 6, 2006 Why would you want to outlay serious money on tricking up a Mitsubishi (I've owned two). They're decent cars, but I'd never consider spending big money doing one up. You'll likely never recoup your money later. Spend it on a nice FAST motorbike You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? NlghtJumper 0 #17 June 6, 2006 I have always love the Eclipse, and I really like all the mods you are able to put on one. I have decided this is going to be my hobby car and over time completely rebuild every part on it. The motorbike and the huge truck all come later. I wanted to get started on this first.
